Students write about their internships

Summer 2008 Intern at Stone-Ward, Little Rock:

It was very appealing to had had such a real-world experience and to have worked on so many actual projects. Now I feel like I have a great base for my job search and portfolio. My only complaint is that the program was so short.

Another 2008 Stone-Ward intern:

What I enjoyed most about Stone-Ward was that everyone was treated as if they were family. . . . Each person genuinely cares about their fellow staff mambers and makes the new staff feel comfortable.

This student interned at the Golf Channel:

If I ever had an issue or needed some help, I never had a problem finding someone. . . . Seeing how things work and how entertaining it can be to work in the television industry made me want to work in television after graduation even more. I have always wanted to be on air. However, if there was a position open in the production department, I would strongly consider based on my experience at the Golf Channel.

A 2008 summer intern with CNN's The Situation Room/Political Unit writes:

Overall I have found this internship to be a great experience that has enhanced my knowledge in many ways. Just to be working for such a great news organization is a privilege in itself. . . . [E]veryone at CNN is so willing to help you learn. I found that this kind of environment made my experience all that I thought it would be and more. . . . It is an amazing feeling to see something you have done on the air. It is a very rewarding job. Eventually I would like to be an anchor or political reporter, but I want to be able to be part of the production of my pieces, so I think that the knowledge and skills I take away from this will be a great asset. . . . I love being surrounded by all of the politics and being the first to know what is going on.
