The Ad Club
The Ad Club is a registered student association (RSO) for any student with an interest in a career in the advertising industry. The club focuses on networking, professional development, and promotes diversity in the advertising profession. The club, which is associated with the American Advertising Federation, district ten, organizes panel discussions, and agency tours, collaborates on projects with local non-profits and assists students with internships and scholarships. Society of Professional Journalists
The School of Journalism and Strategic Media sponsors a student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Students in all journalism sequences work together on important issues including the Freedom of Information Act and how to secure media jobs after graduation. Every spring, the student SPJ chapter sponsors the student government presidential debate, a program that airs live on campus TV station UATV. In 1998, the UA SPJ chapter was voted co-chapter of the year by the national SPJ, over college chapters in Arkansas, Louisianna, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The Public Relations Student Society of America is an organization that strives to develop future public relations practitioners who are well-informed and well-prepared professionals.
National Association of Hispanic Journalists
In 2023, the School of Journalism and Strategic Media launched a student chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. NAHJ's mission is to increase the number of Latinos in newsrooms and to work toward fair and accurate representation of Latinos in news media.
